How to make your interstate move a breeze
Whether you have a new job, want to move back to be closer to family, or simply are ready to try living in a new city, moving interstate can be a daunting prospect. Before moving you must pack up your entire life from your previous home, and one of the most important things you may want to take along is your car. Figuring how you are going to get your car interstate along with everything else going on can be an expensive and time consuming process in itself, so what can you do to make your interstate move a breeze?
Plan Ahead of Time:
There is nothing more stressful than having the transporter coming in a few hours and having to finish packing before they arrive. Make sure that your interstate move is fully planned, and that you give yourself enough time to get organised and to sort out your things, this includes emptying out your vehicle of all your personal belongings and taking out anything you may need.
Don’t be Afraid to Spend a Little Money:
Ok, moving interstate can be expensive. Very expensive. You don’t have to break the bank during the moving process, but you do need to be prepared to spend a little to make it go smoothly and without a hitch. Do your research and find a good transporter company which charges affordable rates. Ok, yes they may be expensive (driving a truck across the country always costs money, regardless of the company), but it will be worth it. Driving your car between states is not as easy as you think, it will take longer than you think, not to mention the mileage and simply isn’t worth it.
Make Sure That You Notify Registration Companies:
Before you leave, make sure that you organise to register your vehicle in your new state. Remember to call your current transport authority of the changes and make arrangements with the authorities in the new state you are moving to. Also remember to contact your insurance company of the move too. Doing this beforehand can save you a lot of drama and hassle in the long run so it’s best to do it early.
